I'm Jean Scheijen, a photographer with over 30 years of experience, based in Maastricht, the Netherlands. My journey in photography began with traditional film, evolved to digital with Canon cameras, and has now led me to the unique world of instant photography. Today, I work primarily with Polaroid cameras, along with other instant techniques like FujiFilm, to capture moments that feel both timeless and personal. As a scientist at the University of Maastricht, I bring an experimental approach to my art, blending technical precision with the creative spontaneity that instant photography allows. Each image I create is a moment preserved in time, an authentic reflection of the world around us. In a digital, AI-shaped world, Polaroids give me something real, moments captured as they are, without filters or algorithms.
